Happy Birthday to UMIC and UMIP!
It was an event not to be missed, with standing room only when UMIC and UMIP celebrated ten years of successful biotechnology business incubation and five years of bioscience commercialisation on 23 September with a conference and exhibition at the CTF.
The day was well attended by leading industry figures, including Sir William Castell, Chairman of the Wellcome Trust and ex-CEO of Amersham plc, as well as new and up-and-coming companies, entrepreneurs and the next generation of innovators.
The event provided an opportunity to fully recognize and celebrate the achievements and commercial value created by the University of Manchester, UMIP and UMIC – through its facilities, expertise, networks and partnerships – for bioscience and technology development in the northwest region and beyond.
The day was judged to be a fantastic success by all who attended and was rounded off with a celebratory drinks reception where everyone toasted the achievements to date, and looked forward to an exciting future. Here’s to the next ten years!
