The public sector is under increasing pressure to improve efficiency, while preserving high quality services. Although efficiency and improvement have always been on the agenda, the speed and scale of the changes required are proving very hard to meet.

This workshop looks at several ways in which efficiency and improvement could be achieved, building on the latest research and practical evidence in the areas of continuous improvement, lean thinking and performance management.

Efficiency savings are not cost cutting exercises. Real efficiencies can be made only if we understand how certain activities and processes are performed, and how they could be improved. Also, for any improvement to be achieved, we need to ensure the buy-in of the workforce and that new approaches are embedded in our day-to-day work.
