Welcome to the first ever Liverpool Startup Weekend which will kick off the Liverpool Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2012.
The startup weekend will be held at the Capital Building, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L3 9PP, starting at 18.00 on Friday 9th March and ending at 22.00 on Sunday 11th March.
A weekend of no talk, all action and the sheer exhilaration of launching a Startup business in just 54 hours!
Whether you have a great business idea you want to get off the ground, are a budding entrepreneur, a startup enthusiast, a designer, a developer, or a business person, this weekend is for you.
Startup weekends are unique - they are run in over 100 cities in over 30 countries - you’ll feel the difference from the very outset. We kick off with Pitchfire on Friday evening where anyone with a startup idea can pitch it - in just 60 seconds! You choose the ideas you like best and offer your skills to one of these to turn it from an idea into a real business. So you get to choose the business you create during the weekend. Of course, you can also offer your unique talents to other teams too. As always, the more you put in, the more you will get out.
We have expert mentors on hand to help your team as you define your business model, get your potential customers to validate it, and build your Startup. The weekend culminates with presentations to our illustrious panel of judges who have the difficult task of choosing just one winner.
