Brainstorming is a powerful, quick and cost-effective technique to discover solutions for a specific problems & lucrative new directions for businesses. For over 10 years Lucid Innovation has been using brainstorming as an effective tool at every stage in the development of products & services. The results are commercially successful medical devices, toys, scientific instruments, packaging, consumer electronics & services developed for technology spin outs, multi-nationals & smaller businesses.
This lively, interactive session will introduce different techniques for getting the most out of brainstorming. Using real business scenarios we’ll investigate:
• how regular brainstorming make businesses more competitive
• techniques for generating strategic approaches to what a business should be doing in future
• techniques are appropriate to unlock sticky, technical problems
• discovering issues that make a real difference to consumers
• the limitations of brainstorming & general guidance in running sessions
Alistair Williamson – Alistair is Managing Director of Lucid Innovation, specialists in brand, product & packaging development based at MSP. A Chartered Engineer with 25 years new product development experience, Alistair is also a National Director of BDI, the trade body for industrial design businesses.
Andrew Hodgin – Andrew is Director of Innovation at Lucid. A Masters graduate in Industrial Design from the Royal College of Art, Andrew has used brainstorming to help develop design solutions for businesses as diverse as London Underground, Boots Pharmacueticals & Brother International Europe.
