Professor Alan Gilbert
UMIC is sorry to report that Professor Alan Gilbert sadly passed away this morning. Professor Gilbert was President & Vice Chancellor of The University of Manchester from its inauguration in 2004 until 30 July 2010.
He died hospital in Manchester having suffered from a serious illness for the last few months.
