6th Northwest Biomedical Awards Dinner, 22nd November 2007, Mere Golf and Country Club, Cheshire

UMIC and UMIP co-sponsored a table at the 6th Northwest Biomedical Awards Dinner last night.
Awards were presented as follows:
1. Biomedical Project of the Year- won by Liverpool University (stem cell research)
2. Young Biomedical Technologist of the year- won by Dr Nicky Thelwell from DxS.
3. Biomedical Start-Up – won by Iota Nanosolutions Ltd , Liverpool (special commendation for Conformetrix, Manchester)
4. Healthcare Project of the Year- won by a collaborative project (Prof Keith Horner and Drs Hugh Devlin and Jim Graham) between Dentistry and Medicine (imaging sciences), University of Manchester-Imaging methods for dental care
5. Translational Technology Award- won by Ged Brady and drug discovery team, Epistem
6. Biomedical Company of the year- won by Renovo
7. Biomedical personality of the year – won by Steve Jones, Novartis (Liverpool)
