Frameworks funding opportunity for collaborative research

The FP6 Life Sciences call is about to open offering funding for collaborative research. FrameworksNW offers free support for Northwest organisations to access this funding.

European 6th Framework Programme (FP6) – Final Call in Life Sciences
FP6 is the main pathway for the European Union to fund collaborative research and technical development (RTD). The majority of FP6 research projects are collaborative and require a consortium of partners from a number of European countries. Benefits to participating organisations include:
- Shared cost of research
- Network opportunities
- Access to new ideas
- Development of new products
- Access to new markets
- Benefits of R&D results
The Life Sciences call is due to open in June 2005 with a deadline of 9 November 2005 and has a total indicative budget of 171 million Euros. The two main research categories for this call are:
1) Advanced genomics and its application for health
2) Combating major diseases
A free support service funded by NWDA to help organizations across the region access European funding for research through FP6
