“Sharing knowledge, developing business, gathering momentum” – Manchester Momentum set for September Launch

The University of Manchester will soon unveil Manchester Momentum, a unique knowledge community devoted to nurturing the growth of commercial ventures that have an affiliation with the University. Spin-out, incubating and science park-based businesses will be able to capitalize on the resources of the largest university in the UK enabling them to reach new heights in their business development.

The aim of Momentum is to bring together a community of aspiring businesses that can gain clear development benefits from their association with the University – plus an opportunity to generate mutually supportive relationships between themselves to enable the sharing of knowledge and expertise. Companies involved in this prestigious forum can benefit from a range of services designed with the growth of their business in mind including dedicated events, access to training and a specialist recruitment service, “Momentum Matters” news publication, a unique mentoring programme and early notice of student availability for project work. Businesses will also be able to make use of an enquiry line providing direct access to the University’s huge pool of academic expertise.

Chaired by Rod Coombs, Vice President Innovation and Economic Development, Momentum is a membership organisation with eligibility criteria to ensure exclusivity. The official launch will take place on Wednesday 27th September at UMIC’s Core Technology Facility (CTF) with a full programme of informative presentations and providing a valuable networking opportunity.
