Plasma Clean, a high technology spinout company created by The University of Manchester’s Intellectual Property commercialisation company (UMIP) has moved into its new headquarters in Stockport. It chose Broadstone Knowledge Mill, in the new Houldsworth Village area, for its suitability for the business. David Glover, one of the company founders, said “having looked at many other locations we settled on Broadstone Knowledge Mill. We needed a location for both a laboratory and offices. The newly converted Incubator space was ideal for this having all the other services we need at close hand. We will initially employ five people, but we are expecting to expand very quickly, doubling in size’.

Plasma Clean is an effective gas purification technology, which removes pollutants such as microbes and chemical waste from air. Plasma Clean can be applied in many areas such as the health sector for germicidal applications and commercial premises for odour removal in pubs, clubs and kitchens.

Plasma Clean is one of a new generation of high tech companies that will be located in the Broadstone Incubator and managed workspace. Work with The University of Manchester Incubator Company Limited (UMIC) and Stockport Council’s Economic Development team is underway to attract in similar companies over the next twelve months.
