Bionow are delighted to announce that from 20th December 2010 the new North West Fund is open and ready to receive investment applications. The overall fund is £185m across different key sectors and finance types, however, to reflect the strategic importance of Biomedicine in the North West there is a specific fund valued at £25m to be invested solely within the sector. It is anticipated that this fund will also leverage further private sector investment making the total value to North West Biomedical companies significantly in excess of this figure.
The fund provides finance from £50,000 to £2m to businesses seeking finance to support a broad range of needs from start-up and early stage development through to expansion plans for trading businesses. In return, the Fund Manager will require an equity share in the business. Capital structures can include a combination of equity, quasi-equity or mezzanine capital and loan support as best suits the needs of the company.
