Panel Expertise

Jayne Lawton – Grobox

British Female Innovator of the year 2006, 2006 Packard Bell Working Mum of the year-just two of the awards won by Jayne Lawton, an award winning innovator and entrepreneur as well as a full-time mother and marathon runner. Her business idea came from her area of expertise as a trained horticulturist with the Royal Horticultural Society.

Through her time lecturing partially sighted students, Jayne identified a gap in the marketplace for a designer growing box product with a collection of handpicked scented plants. She now has a successful internet based business with a range of products which are also available in Sainsbury’s and Wilkinson’s. Jayne will explain how with persistence and determination she has built a successful business and will also pass on some of her experiences in getting her product to market to encourage others.
