During 2010, regeNer8 is running an Industry Challenge programme focused on tools and technologies for regenerative therapies. This second meeting will highlight the Wellcome Trust’s translational funding programme, providing an overview and case study. This will be followed by a networking session with facilitated consortium brokerage. Many challenges remain on our list – including for instance, karyotypic changes during culture, rapid mycoplasma testing, shelf-life extension, analysis of cell-scaffold/cell-material interactions and in-process monitoring of cell phenotype. This is far from exhaustive and we would of course welcome the contribution of other challenges suitable for collaborative translational projects.
