Research Grants and Contracts are fundamental to the activities of universities.

As the focus grows on commercialising the research undertaken in universities, it is ever more vital that the contracts that frame research funding are developed with one eye to the future. A bad contract can hinder future research development and fail to fairly divide rights to intellectual property and future applications of new inventions.

Those working in this complex area also cope with ever increasing workloads, bringing the challenge of prioritising contracts and balancing the use of process and model agreements with delivering a bespoke contract for each deal.

This course aims to help research contracts professionals to meet these challenges and to develop technical knowledge which will help them to confidently draft, interpret and amend contracts, whilst building strong relationships and consensus with their stakeholders.
