University of Manchester Incubator Company (UMIC), MTI Partners and Frontier Public Relations, have been working together over the last twelve months and have formed a highly successful business partnership.
Frontier PR is an award-nominated, full-service agency, that delivers public relations and marketing solutions, with a particular specialism in the high-tech, high-growth sectors. Frontier’s clients are faced with the challenge of introducing some of the world’s most advanced technologies into the market and Frontier PR helps adoption of these innovations through intelligent, targeted communications.
Founded in 1983, MTI Partners is a leading Venture Capital firm which invests in young businesses that show outstanding potential in the areas of high technology and clean technology. They specialise in university spin-out companies. MTI is a leader in the field of technology Venture Capital, and is one of the most successful and experienced technology fund management firms in the UK. They have a particular interest in businesses with proven proprietary technology which addresses an identifiable market need.
MTI Partners approached Frontier PR because of their understanding of technology markets and their track record of delivering success. The two companies began working together in October 2009.
Frontier PR launched an extensive media relations campaign to help enhance MTI’s profile. They broke down the complex combination of markets and messages tailored to suit each audience, to ensure that the message was delivered effectively so as to increase awareness and understanding. Media relations were designed to be proactive and reactive, both driving the agenda, and responding to issues as they broke.

Manchester University’s Incubator was the catalyst for Frontier PR and MTI coming together. Frontier PR was working with fellow UMIC company, Arvia Technology, an MTI Parters portfolio company, making the connection between the two businesses easier. This partnership shows the value of the Incubator in helping to bring businesses together.
