Conformetrix Ltd is a start-up company founded by Dr Andrew Almond and Dr Charles Blundell of the University of Manchester. The founder’s expertise in structural biology and molecular dynamics rests on 20+ years at the cutting edge of this field of research.
Quite simply, Conformetrix aims to be the world’s leading supplier of molecular structure information to the drug discovery industry. Its unique platform technology will revolutionise rational drug design (RDD) approaches by significantly improving the quality of input data upon which medicinal chemistry and drug-target simulations are based.
The company operates from its offices in the Core Technology Facility and benefits from dedicated laboratory space at the nearby University of Manchester. It has been taken from a research idea to a commercial reality by funding provided by UMIP, the BBSRC and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
