University of Manchester Incubator Company (UMIC) and Cake Solutions are hosting an event on Java and J2EE in April 2009.
Event location: Core Technology Facility (CTF), 48 Grafton Street (off Oxford Road near the MRI) on Wednesday 8th April from 6-8pm.
Aims: The event is for people associated with Java and J2EE. This will give an invaluable opportunity for interaction between the teaching, research and commercial communities and create a new platform for teaching.

We are delighted to announce the speakers for the inaugural Spring User Group UK meeting in Manchester on April 8th with the theme of “Spring and the best practices are drawn from experience”.
There has been a massive response to the pre-announcement, please register now at http://www.springusergroup.org.uk/registration/ as we are clearly going to have a packed house. This will be a fantastic, free event with a list of top speakers, including Rob Harrop (architect and lead developer at SpringSource) who will be providing a talk on maximising benefits from the forthcoming Spring 3.0 release and Jan Machacek (CTO at Cake Solutions) will be discussing some advanced techniques drawn on his years of Spring experience. There will also be some rapid-fire spots for you to offer advice based on overcoming challenges on your projects. All this will followed by an opportunity to network with your fellow Spring users over a pint of beer.
There is a superb venue kindly provided by Manchester University at their impressive Business Incubation Centre, Grafton Street, Manchester, M13 9XX. Note this date in you diary now; Wednesday 8th April, doors open at 6:00pm.
The Spring User Group events in London regularly attract a large attendance and we look forward to a big turn out at our inaugural North West meeting.
