Healthy reception for Intellicig at 2010 UK National Smoking Cessation Conference

The annual UK National Smoking Cessation Conference took on 14th-15th July at the SAS Radisson Hotel in Glasgow. Major NRT Companies including Johnson & Johnson and McNeill showcased their new products to a wide range of international Health Professionals, Cessation Practitioners and Academics, who attended structured delegate lectures given by acknowledged global experts across the 2 day event.  All attendees and speakers congregate for one purpose, to find new and innovative methods to combat cigarettes and the damage tobacco causes.

UMIC Based Intellicig became the first Electronic Cigarette Producer to attend NSCC and were given an exceptionally positive reception by both delegates and co-exhibitors alike. Senior Representatives spoke to many of the 750 attendees, all of whom  were extremely interested in the Company’s EVOlution starter packs and ECOpure nicotine refill cartridges – manufactured at the company’s laboratory at Grafton St –  and some very good relationships were formed.

Intellicig spoke directly with many eminently knowledgeable and influential delegates, one of whom, an  acknowledged authority in the study of e-cigarettes, was attending the conference to give a key note speech. Intellicig was able to provide clear and concise information and to explain how the EVOlution product is a now a serious smoking alternative, enabling the speaker to provide his audience with the latest developments in the ecig industry; following his  address, in which he focused on e-cigs as an innovative new tool to combat tobacco, Intellicig’s stand was deluged by delegates wishing to learn more about both the EVOlution e-cigarette and ECO Pure, Intellicig’s proprietary liquid.

Intellicig have subsequently been invited to create protocol papers and anecdotal participant survey forms to support in three different trials; for a key researcher in Experimental Psychology, a Health Leader in the Mental Health Sector and a team of Respiratory Nurses within a major PCT.

All wish to use Intellicig and ECO Pure for their studies as they have the assurance of a nicotine liquid manufactured in the UK under laboratory conditions, to GMP standards and already tested.

Intellicig came to the conference expecting to introduce the company’s e-cigarette and E liquid  products to the Health & Cessation sector, yet found that many of the delegates were already aware of the product from their enquiries by their patients. Numerous front line Cessation Professionals were pleased to learn  that  Intellicig is working towards submitting an application for Marketing Authorisation, which, when granted, will allow them to formally recommend Intellicig.

Over 200 sample packs were given to delegates for evaluation and Intellicig is anticipating very favourable feedback. The company will be maintaining contact with all those who took the time to learn more about its innovative, alternative ecig product, whilst continuing the road to building considered professional awareness, something Intellicig believes is vital  to move the product  beyond the many urban myths about “electric cigarettes.”

Ultimately, everyone at  NSCC 2010 was there for the same reason, to combat the myriad health issues caused by tobacco and to reduce the harm caused by smoking. Intellicig is now firmly established as a credible company with a positive, healthy approach and a potentially life changing product.
