Company shows no signs of quitting
Despite one of the most challenging periods in recent history, Hyndburn-based electronic cigarette manufacturer, Intellicig, flourished in the last year and is showing no signs of slowing down.
In its first year of trading alone, Intellicig registered over £1 million in sales worldwide, signed export deals with 25 countries and is the only electronic cigarette manufacturer to be given the official seal of approval by the Egyptian Government to sell their products in all of Egypt’s 30,000 pharmacies.
The unprecedented success has seen the firm grow from a two-strong enterprise to employing 25 full time staff at its Head Office in Accrington along with a growing team of national retail agents to cater for their 20,000 regular UK customers, and an estimated 200,000 in total.
Priding themselves on manufacturing the healthiest and cleanest products on the market, Intellicig has expanded and has established a laboratory at Manchester’s Bioscience Incubator to perform its own clinical trials on their products.
Working in partnership with the University of Manchester Incubator Company (UMIC), Intellicig has access to state-of-the-art laboratories fully accredited for bioscience and biotech developments and in-house mentoring and professional services.
A specialist division has also been created at its headquarters which will complement UMIC and enable the company to further develop its own nicotine solution, EcoPure.
David Newns, Intellicig commercial director, said: “We’ve enjoyed such a hugely successful year and it’s been an incredibly productive one at that.
“Everything we do is to the highest of standards; even our safety packaging and labelling go beyond the requirements of UK Trading Standards.”
It is because of this commitment to reinvestment that has seen Intellicig clinch an exclusive deal which will see their products stocked in more than 10,000 retail outlets nationwide.
Intellicig is the first electronic cigarette company to partner with sales and distribution experts Innzone Ltd who work closely with major newspaper wholesalers Menzies Distribution and Smiths News to get upcoming products on the shelves in convenience stores.
“We’ve recently launched a brand new customer focused website which has been developed in direct response to what our customers are looking for,” said David. “It places a lot of emphasis on customer care as we’re always communicating with our customers because we take their views very seriously.”
Intellicig is available in three colours; traditional, black and silver, with red or blue glowing tips, and can be purchased online at http://www.intellicig.com/.
