Carbon Trust Entrepreneurs Fast Track launched

 The Entrepreneurs Fast Track replaces the previous Applied Research and Incubation programmes and will provide the UK’s top low carbon ventures with a customised package made up of:

  • research and development grant funding (up to £500k);
  • expert advice (up to £70k); and
  • enhanced networking opportunities.

The Entrepreneurs Fast Track was developed after consultation with 400 of Britain’s emerging low carbon technology companies and has been welcomed by business leaders, including James Dyson, the business angel community and the UK Government. The principal aim of the Entrepreneurs Fast Track is to bridge a critical funding gap by ‘turbo charging’ the transition of companies from high risk start-ups to attractive investment propositions. The commercialisation of the country’s best low carbon technologies is central to helping the UK to accelerate its transition to a low carbon economy while creating new jobs across the UK and boosting export revenues.

Tony Walker, UMIC Incubation Manager for low carbon said:

This is a real opportunity to access a great array of Carbon Trust support and will provide a boost to the many excellent quality ideas being developed in the Northwest.  We are looking forwards to submitting our own companies into this programme.
